t is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Alice Jean Smith (Post) at the Innisfail Palliative/Acute Care Unit in the Innisfail Hospital on Tuesday October 9th, 2018, at the age of 77. Born: 8 November 1940, Selkirk, Manitoba.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Leslie Post, sisters Maureen Post and Loraine Post (Hart) of Vancouver, BC.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Al Smith; daughters, Beverly (Darwin) and Brenda; grandsons, Ryan, Rick, William (Janae) and Andrew; granddaughter, Ashley; brother, Art (Louise), sisters Penny and Nancy (Harvey); and her beloved little dogs Mocha and Toya; kitty Minn, and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends. Jean lived in Selkirk, until, at a young age, she and her family moved to Salmo, BC and then to Vancouver, BC, where she met her husband, Al and were married on August 11, 1962.
Jean's family would like to thank Dr. Miller and the teams of wonderful nurses and doctors at the Innisfail Hospital for their kindness and compassion during her time there.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 10, 2018 at 1pm at the Pine Lake Hub Centre, Pine Lake AB. Condolences may be left for the family at www.eventidefuneralchapel.com.
