December 22, 2018
Allan Kobluk (Al) passed away in Lacombe, Alberta on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Al was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary, as well as his sisters, Polly Kobluk and Anne Derkach both of Edmonton, and a brother John Kobluk of Angusville, Manitoba.

Al is survived by his loving wife Bernice, son Rick (Pam) and grandaughters Keely and Tara of Strathmore, daughter Deb (Scott) and granddaughter Laura of Gibbons and daughter Cheryl and granddaughter Jessica of Ponoka, as well as his brother William of Ottawa. Anyone who met Al would remember him... he was quite a character. Al loved being around people, and would gladly talk your ear off over a cup of coffee.

Al was devoted to his family and especially his granddaughters, who he doted over. Before enjoying a long and joyful retirement, Al worked as a manager for the ALCB in several locations, including Edmonton, Maclennan, Provost, and Red Deer. Following retirement, he stayed busy volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, as well as Meals on Wheels, Backyard Friends and Samaritans Purse. He was also very active in his church, Trinity Lutheran, where he took care of the building and grounds for many years. Al loved nothing more than to be outdoors on a warm sunny day, puttering around in the yard, camping, fishing or just soaking up the sun. Al was our ray of sunshine, and he will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday December 28, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church 5227 C&E Trail Lacombe, Alberta T4L 1J7 in Lacombe, Alberta at 1:00 pm.

In memory of Al, donations may be directed to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, 11220 83 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 2J2 - or - to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 5241 Calgary Trail NW #144, Edmonton, AB T6H 5G8.
