Allan CARD

Allan Melville

March 24, 1919 – Nov. 24, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad. Allan is survived by his daughters Gail (Pat) Tkaczyk, Lynne (Phil) Dupont, his son Lee Card, two nieces Nila Stringer and Terry Fleming; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife Joan in 2008, his mother and father Velma and Claude Card, his sisters Lila Stringer and Eileen Card and his daughter-in-law Elaine Bellingham-Card. Allan was born in Red Deer and lived in the area until joining the Calgary Tanks in WWII. It was while on leave that he met and married his wife Joan. They lived in Calgary and raised their family until they retired to Okanagan Falls in 1980. Dad spent his last 4 years at the Rockyview Lodge in Crossfield. We would like to thank the staff at the lodge for their wonderful care they provided during this time. We would also like to thank the staff at the Didsbury Hospital for their kindness and compassion during his final days. A Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 508 – 3 Avenue SE, Airdrie, Alberta on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 12:30 pm. Interment at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
