Alyssa BARTRAW

BARTRAW Alyssa Annmarie passed away peacefully in her 7th year on October 11, 2007 at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary, Alberta after a courageous battle with leukemia. Alyssa will be lovingly missed by her Daddy, Danny Bartraw (Theresa Hermary), her Mommy Debra Bartraw (Greg Brown), her big brother Davis Bartraw and her step-brother Cole Panchuk. She will also be missed by grandparents, William and Carol Bartraw (Powassan, Ont.), Frank and Sharon Smith (Powassan, Ont.), Adrian and Glenda Hermary (Red Deer, AB), and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Alyssa was predeceased by her grandmother, Rita Smith. Alyssa was born in Creston, B.C. on December 22, 2000 and moved to Cranbrook in September of 2004. She attended T.M. Roberts Elementary School in the French Immersion Program. With an infectious smile and a magnetic energy about her, Alyssa touched the hearts of everyone she met. Before completing her kindergarten year she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and over the next year and a half she demonstrated amazing determination, perseverance, spirit, strength and courage. Services for Alyssa were held on Tuesday, October 16th at Cranbrook Alliance Church. Special thank you to the officiating Rev. Marcel Leffelaar of Calgary, AB (A.C.H.)
