Family and friends mark the passing of Mary Bindon (nee Schmidt) who passed away peacefully at Aspen Ridge in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 91. Mary is survived by eight children from her blended family, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Bindon in 2011. Born in Unity, Saskatchewan, Mary lived in Kelowna, B.C. and Edmonton, Alberta before retiring to Red Deer in the 1980s. She and Walter enjoyed many years of travelling, as well as camping around Alberta. Mary loved to share a laugh with family and friends and was known for her uncanny card playing ability. Many thanks to the staff at Aspen Ridge and at Parkland Respiratory, as well as Dr. S. Murray and Dr. M. Odendaal for their compassion and attention to Mary’s needs. A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, May 10 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 – 67 Street.
