Annie THURSTON

THURSTON (Hill) Annie Patricia Mar. 17 1918 – May 30, 2009 Annie; beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2009 at the Red Deer Nursing home at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Patsy (Bob) Schatz, Bev (Terry) Innes, Jack (Henny) Hill, Ken (Sherry) Hill and their families. She is also survived by her stepdaughters; Ila (Bob) Sloan, Donna (Bob) Scarlett, Lorna (Ed) Jones, Penny (Lawrence) Winters and their families. She will be sadly missed by her sister Violet (Lloyd) Traptow. Annie was predeceased by her eldest son Charlie Hill; her first husband William (Bill) Hill; her second husband Spence Thurston; her parents Charlie and Sadie Newton; her siblings Harry Newton, Eveleine Dewar, Dorothy Thompson, Art Newton, Dick Newton, Reg Newton, Kay Munro and her great-grandson Samuel Schatz. Annie's family would like to express their sincerest thanks for the loving care that was given to her by all the staff at the Autumn Glen Lodge (Innisfail) and over the past three years at the Red Deer Nursing Home. Annie loved to cook, sew, garden, camp and play crib. Her home was always open to family and friends as there was always room for one more. Annie was a woman of quiet faith who never judged but instead preferred to see only the good in everybody and everything. Family always came first and she'd be there for you through the good and bad times. Annie's love will surely shine on in all the many lives that she's touched. A Celebration of Annie's life will be held at the Innisfail United Church (4720-48 Ave) on Thursday June 4, 2009 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Margaret Lange officiating. Interment to follow at the Innisfail Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Innisfail United Church or a charity of your choice.
