ANNING

ANNING, Mrs. Lola Rosalie Anning of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, December 5, 2005 at the age of 93 years. Lola was born on April 30, 1912 at Hardisty, Alberta, where she was raised. She received her teaching certificate at Normal School in Camrose, Alberta. Lola then taught school in St. Paul Alberta. In 1936, Lola married Hugh Gordon Anning and the couple raised six children. Following Hugh’s passing in 1962, Lola moved back to the farm at Olds. She resumed her teaching career and taught at the Reed Ranch School for five years. In 1969, Lola moved to Rocky Mountain House, where she taught school until her retirement. After that, she returned to Olds and then moved to Red Deer in 1985, where she continued to live until her passing. Lola very much enjoyed caring for her gardens and flowers. Lola leaves with happy memories, her children; George (Jean) Anning of Edmonton, Gary Anning of Olds, Peggy Anderson of Calgary, Lana (Barry) Bennett of Victoria, Rosalie (Harry) Lillo, also of Calgary and Gail (Jim) Wiseman of Red Deer, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Kathren Hartley of Edmonton and her brother, Tom Wilkening of Florida. Lola was predeceased by her beloved husband, Hugh in 1962, a granddaughter, Bonnie and a daughter-in-law, Norma Anning. A Public Memorial Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
