HOLLEY Archie Wayne 1943-2009 It is with sadden hearts that we announce the sudden death of Archie Wayne Holley after a courageous battle with cancer. Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a great friend to many. Wayne was born December 2, 1943 in Beinfait, Saskatchewan. He was raised and educated in Estevan, Saskatchewan. He worked for his father at Holley Motors, a Chrysler Dealership. In 1968, Wayne moved to Regina with Arren & worked at Neil Motors. Wayne, Colleen and Arren moved to Thompson, Manitoba in 1973 where he was Parts Manager at Burntwood Ford. 1978 brought Wayne and his family to Alberta where Wayne was Parts Manager for 29 years at Festival Ford. After his retirement, he worked at Lacombe Ford for one year until his illness prevented him from working. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Colleen, his daughter Arren (Lance) and two wonderful grandchildren, his pride and joy. Madeleine and Jakob, his mother, Madeleine, sister Mary (John) Calder, sister Helen (Rick) Seitz, sister Audrey (Lloyd) Olson and brother Bruce, many nieces and nephews and in laws. He will be sadly missed by his dog Maggie and many friends who will miss his sense of humour, knowledge of golf, fishing, and the automotive industry. Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Helena in (1948), his father Archie in (1998), his sister Marjorie in (1979). Wayne was a very active member of the Lacombe Lions Club, Served as President and Zone Chairman and received a Melvin Jones Fellowship. Wayne had been on the Board of Directors of the Lacombe Golf and Country Club and was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Thank you to the nursing staff on Unit A and B of the Lacombe Hospital. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at the St. Andrews United Church, 5226-51 Ave, Lacombe Alberta, on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Cross Cancer Institute, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560- University Ave, Edmonton Alberta, T6G 1Z2 or to the Humane Society, 4505-77 St, Red Deer Alberta, T4P 2J1.
