PARKER (Nee Garven)
Arlene Margaret Parker passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 after a heroic 24 year battle with breast cancer. Arlene was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan and raised in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Her family moved to Winnipeg during Arlene's High School years. She graduated in 1970 with degrees in Home Economics and Education from the University of Manitoba. She spent more than 25 years teaching Junior and Senior High School. Arlene is survived by her husband, Bryan, step-children; Randy, Doug and Tricia, and grandchildren; Kevin, Ashlea and Wyatt. She is also survived by a sister, Janice (Boris) from Halifax and David (Jennifer), nieces and nephew, John and Pam, and Pam's children; Noah and Kaya from West Vancouver. A Memorial Service will take place at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Brenda Kersell officiating.
