REID Arthur "Art" Murray Alexander March 27, 1946-January 1, 2009 On January 1, 2009, Art Reid of Edmonton passed away peacefully after a brief illness in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 62 years. Art is survived by his wife, Emilie Reid; daughter, Lisa (Shane) Parker and son, Rachied (Andria); grandchildren, Alexandra, Elise, Reid, Carys, Ryder, Parker, Kyle, Blake; brothers and sister, Jack (Margaret), Bob (Kathy), Don (Carolee) and Margaret (Robert) Tew as well as a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Moe (Darlene) Hamdon, Jeannette (Gerry) Russell and Faye (Jim) Morrison; mother-in-law, Josephine Hamdon and numerous other relatives and friends. Art was predeceased by his father, John Guthrie and mother, Evelyn Gertrude. A spirited entrepreneur who founded Reid Built Homes in 1982. With vision the Reid Group of Companies has grown throughout Western Canada and remains an industry leader today. Since retirement in 2007, Art remained active in guiding his "Reid Team" to continued success based upon his founding principles. A Funeral Service will be held at Al Rashid Mosque, 13070-113 St., Edmonton on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Beechmount Cemetery.
