March 21, 2019
The family of Art Wegner are sad to announce his passing on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Bethany Collegeside Red Deer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hope; three children, Patty (John Andrew) of Ontario, Wayne (Janet) of Calgary, and Neil (Ida) of Red Deer; six grandchildren and seven great grand-children; as well as a sister in Regina and many nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan.

Art was predeceased by his son, Richard of Red Deer and his parents Emil and Olga Wegner and younger brother Arnold, all of Craik, Saskatchewan. Art had a long and successful career with Chrysler Canada, most of it in the Western Region as well as 18 years in Head Office in Windsor, Ontario. Art retired at the young age of 62 and was able to enjoy 25 years of retirement before he became ill.

We travelled to many places, including Australia and were able to golf, cross country ski, and spend more time with the family and friends. Art was a "people" person and active in every community they lived in. We would like to thank all of the nursing staff in B1 at Collegeside. You are the best! You always went that "extra mile" and Art so appreciated all you did for him. Thank you Dr. Mulder, who began this journey with us and guided us along the way.

Thank you to Pastor David Larsen who could always get a smile from Art. A very special thank you to our son Neil who has been a rock to me for the past six years and I can't thank you enough for your love and support. Art has requested cremation and no funeral service. "Gone from this life - but forever in our hearts."
