June 11, 1935 - November 3, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Olivia Ogston on November 3, 2018 at the age of 83.

She was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan on June 11, 1935 to Mildred (Jackson) and Walter Abar. She grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba as the eldest of eight children and there she met and married Ken Ogston in June of 1953. They had three children; Lindsay Ogston, Pamela (David) MacLean and Kenneth (Denise) Ogston. She was also grandma to eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. After marrying Ken they left Flin Flon and lived in such places as Fort Saskatchewan, Inuvik, Calgary, Carstairs and Leduc before settling in Millet in 1964. There they put down roots and became very involved in the small community. Audrey taught Sunday school, curled, worked with the library board and spent seventeen years in a job she loved at the CIBC. After Ken died in 1984 she was lucky finding love again with Allan Dufva and thus she added two more children Dale Dufva and Brenda (Jeannot) Gagnon, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren to her extended family.

Audrey was predeceased by her brothers Allan and Fred Abar and her brother-in-law Eddie Lengyl.

She is survived by her siblings Iris (Lloyd) Tolhurst, Joan Cooney, Robert Abar, Betty Lengyl and Garry Abar. Aud was a vibrant, fun loving person who would chat with anyone she met. Thus she was surrounded by a wide circle of loving friends. She will be missed by many.

A special thanks goes out to Dr. Konynenbelt and the caring support staff on level three at Points West, Red Deer where she spent the last two years of her life battling Alzheimer's Disease. They were so kind to mom and made her and us feel like family. Thank you.

A memorial service for Audrey will be held this summer with the date and time yet to be determined.
