AUSTRING It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Gayle Olive Austring, beloved wife of Wayne Austring, of Red Deer, on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the age of 57 years. Gayle was born in Hardisty, Alberta on June 11, 1948 to Vernon and Millie Sampson of Irma, Alberta. Her childhood years were spent her with sisters Virley and Melba. After High School graduation she attended the U of A, Edmonton, in the teacher education program. In 1969, she married Wayne Austring and they resided in Fox Creek and Ft. Simpson before moving to Red Deer in 1972. Gayle taught at Fairview, Central and Red Deer Christian Schools. She was a gifted teacher and loved by students, their parents and co workers. She retired in 2001 but two years later her love of learning enticed her to become a student in the nursing program at R D C. She was awarded an Honorary Diploma, Bachelor of Science Nursing, on March 30th for her excellent endeavor and achievement. Gayle was a free spirit, generous, passionate in all her pursuits, a gifted pianist, artistic, an encourager and loyal friend. She loved family, the simple pleasures of family events, "coffee on the deck" and jogging. Wayne and Gayle traveled extensively throughout their thirty-six years of marriage. She was a strong, positive influence in the formative years of the lives of nephew Davin and nieces Marti, Tara and Kelly and continued to enjoy close relationships with them and their families. She never refused a home to any stray animal that appeared on the doorstep. Gayle is survived and lovingly remembered by husband Wayne, sisters and brothers-in-law Virley and Vern Gulbransen, Melba and Brian Veer and their families. Also cherishing her memory are Wayne's siblings Marie, Arlene, Oriole, Dianne, Dorothy, Juverna, Glen, Jerome, Joanne and his extended family as well as numerous aunts, cousins, friends, students and colleagues. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Merlin, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Public Celebration of Gayle's life and love will be held at the Living Stones Church, 2020-40th Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date in the Amisk Park Cemetery, Amisk, Alberta.
