August 1, 1938 - May 16, 2020
With sadness we announce the passing of Avreillia, our sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Vegreville, Alberta, received her A.R.C.T in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music and was the pianist for many school and town celebrations. She travelled to Willingdon to teach piano. She was an active member in the Vegreville Ukrainian Orthodox Parish. She attended the University of Alberta and began her teaching career in Penhold. Later, in Red Deer, she opened a music store, Crescendo. Avreillia will be remembered as a piano and organ teacher. She enjoyed being active in all aspects of life in Red Deer. The most important part of her life was being a supportive mother to Tim, whether it was in hockey, with his music, or taking holiday trips and camping in the mountains.
She is survived by her sister Lillian Chanasyk, her sister Myroslawa Fodchuk (William) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Tim, her parents William and Anna Pidruchney, her sister Zenovia and her brother Bill. We wish to thank the many people who, over the years, gave her compassionate care and support.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held.
