Barbara VOLLMAN

VOLLMAN Barbara (nee Ackerman) passed away at Pioneer Lodge in Salmon Arm, B.C. at the age of 86 years. Barbara married her husband of 64 years, Wendelin, in 1941 in Saskatchewan where they started their family. In 1945 they moved to central Alberta, farming in the Lacombe, Clive and Chigwell areas. Barbara helped with farm chores and harvesting, and grew a large garden, preserving much produce for winter. In 1959 they retired from farming and moved to Red Deer where they lived and worked for 41 years. In 2001 they moved to Malakwa, B.C. to live in the care of a daughter and son-in-law and in August, 2004 they moved to Pioneer Lodge in Salmon Arm, B.C., where they've received excellent care. Barbara was a wonderful mother to her four daughters and a loving and kind grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She loved to go dancing and to entertain and cook, always impressing her family and friends with her delicious meals and treats. In the presence of family members Barbara peacefully passed away to be with her Lord June 23. Funeral Service will be at Fischers Funeral Services, Salmon Arm, B.C., at 2 p.m. July 2 with Barbara's grandson, Pastor Darren Twa, officiating. Barbara leaves behind her loving husband Wendel, four daughters, Regina (Ron) Twa of Malakwa, LaVerne (Peter) Rice of Edmonton, Marjorie Bosse of Red Deer and Connie (Bill) Grace of Revelstoke.
