BARLUND Mr. Ernest Barlund, beloved husband of Thelma, passed away at the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at the age of 90 years. He was born at Eckville and spent all of his life in Central Alberta. He farmed in the Withrow District until 1996 when he and Thelma moved to Red Deer. Ernest leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years, Thelma; sons: Bruce (Carol), Robert (Arlene), Douglas (Dana), Dale (June), and John; daughter, Sharon (Glenn); sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His sister, Caroline, also survives him. His parents Aina and Frank Barlund, his brother Henry, and sisters Ina and Ellen predecease Ernest. Relatives and friends payed their respects at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer on Monday, July 12, 2004 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Parkland Funeral Home on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Fran Hare officiating. If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home, 5505 - 60th Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 4W2.
