It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barry Adrian Forhan on Thursday April 8th at the age of 84.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Rochelle/Shelley (Raymond) Byiers, Michael Forhan, and Andrea (Jason) Forhan. Grandchildren, Brianne and Jesse Byiers, sister Beverly Feldman and scattered family from across the country which includes cousins, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
He will also be dearly missed by friends and staff at Revera Inglewood where he and his little dog Teddy spent the last 4 1/2 years.
Barry was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Carole, his mother Stella, father Barney and brother Arthur.
Born October 8 1936 in Hamilton Ontario, the youngest of 3 children, he was raised not only by his mother but also his grandparents, uncles and aunts.
Soft spoken and very private Barry found love in his polar opposite when he married Carole in 1961.
A loving father to three children, he worked hard to make a good life for his family. After many moves from Quebec, to Ontario, and finally Alberta, where he found his calling, he settled into the role of Assistant Warden at the Drumheller Penitentiary and then finally the Bowden Penitentiary where he retired in 2002.
Barry, also affectionately known as Caroles husband, called Red Deer his home where he lived for the last 28 years with his wife and their little dogs, Barkley, Rosie, Scruffy and Teddy.
The family would like to thank Red Deer Hospice for the amazing care and compassion they gave Barry and his children.
Memorial donations can be made in memory of Barry to the Red Deer Hospice Society.
A virtual Celebration of life will be held at a future date, for all those interested you may e-mail rochellebyiers@gmail.com
