BLAUEL Barry Wayne of Red Deer, AB, beloved father, husband, Grandpa and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, June 9th at the age of 62 years. Barry is survived by his loving wife Laurel, his son Darren (Andrea), his two daughters Nicole (Dave) and Tricia (Brett), his sister Donna from Edmonton, his grandchildren Trevor, Christopher, Kendra, Kieran and Riley, and his many lifelong friends. Barry was predeceased by his parents Ester and William as well as his brother Ron. Barry was born in 1944 and grew up near Westlock, AB. Barry developed a love of machinery at an early age and trained to become a mechanic, working as a heavy-duty mechanic for R. Angus, Gardiner, SK working on the Diefenbaker dam to Peace River, and from Red Deer, AB to the BHP EKATI Mines in NWT. Barry married his sweetheart Laurel in 1975 and they soon moved to Red Deer, where they raised their three beautiful children. Barry was an active sportsman, spending much of his time curling, playing baseball, fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was well known for long chats with friends in the farmers market, his numerous stories and taking care of everyone's car problems in his garage. His many friends and family and all who knew him for his patience, ability to teach and his many stories, will remember Barry's warmth, love and compassion fondly. The funeral service to honour Barry will be held at Parkland Funeral Home 6287-67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Thursday, June 14th at 10:30 am, followed by a celebration of Barry's life at the Loyal Order of the Moose Hall, located on the corner of Willow Street and Petrolia Drive, (4 blocks south of the Westerner) at 12:00 p.m. The family would like to invite all who knew Barry to attend.
