Ben Garcia of Red Deer, formerly of Guagua, Pampanga, Philippines passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the age of 83 years. Benjamin was born on June 15, 1930. He was the third of six children of Alfonso and Apolonia Garcia (both deceased). Ben was a loving husband to Lilia Garcia and a great father to Renato, Camela and Gloria. All of his three children are registered nurses in Canada and New Jersey, USA. He was a loving grandfather to Renee-Rose, Benjamin, Jordan, Logan, Maegan and Brian. He will be missed by his son-in-law, Gabe Capicio, daughters-in-law Rosario Garcia and Remedios Garcia.Ben will be most remembered as loving, hardworking and generous with both his time and wit. He was gifted with creativity, loved gardening, and his grandchildren will remember him most of all for his humorous quips about life and relationships. Prayer Services will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer on Monday, June 9, 2014 and Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Les Drewicki Celebrant.
