It's with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Bernard J Provost at the age of 62. With his wife Sandra at his bedside he passed peacefully May 7. Bernard was a long time resident of Red Deer. He was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. His family moved to Red deer 1962. He spent the majority of his life in and around Red Deer. His father was Captain of the local Army Cadets regiment of which Bernard was a active recruit.
Bernard spent many years working in the oil patch. He also was an RNand had a tree planting business. Bernard was diagnosed with MS in 2000. He faced this affliction with great courage and determination. He did not let this disease slow him down. Bernard was an accomplished poker player. He was a humorous and kind man.
Our hearts will be heavy for a very long time. He was taken to fast. Left behind is his wife Sandra of 26 years and son Bernard Jr. Siblings Greg, Joan(Ian), Suzanne (Vance), Paul, Patty. Also many nieces and nephews and In-laws. And his good buddy Dwaine.
Special thanks to staff of Cash Casino poker room for treating him good. To staff of CSS. And staff and caregivers of Michener Extended Care. Thank you very much and I greatly appreciate all you did for my husband.
A celebration of life will be held for Bernard at a future date. In lieu of donations or flowers do an Act of Kindness in Bernard's name.
