POHL Bernard Arthur, January 16, 1927 Born: In Berlin, Germany Mr. Bernard Pohl passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Bernard studied and pursued a career in farm research and management. He married Lottie Ketschau in 1950. They decided to move to Canada in 1952 and settled in Alberta. After living on a ranch close to Calgary, they made their permanent home in the Red Deer Area. They raised two boys: Mark born December 1958 and Chris born March 1960. Bernard worked at Michener Centre for thirty- three years under various assignments. He figured this was a very rewarding time for him. Bernard also had a passion for raising and dealing in farm animals. He and his family resided on a small farm west of Red Deer for the last thirty-five years until his passing. Bernard enjoyed all outdoor activities. He tried to be a man of faith and was a follower of Jesus Christ. His wife, Lottie, died in 1985, which aroused much sadness. Bernard met and married a lovely lady from Montana in 1988. Her name is Alice, and they lived happily ever after until his passing. Bernard leaves to mourn, his wife, Alice, his sons, Mark (Vanita), Chris (Jackie) and some good looking grandchildren; Brent, Joshua, Matthew, Jeremy, Alexander, Jason and Megan. Alice has four children; Becky, Cathy, Jeff and Kim. They also raised a bunch of great off-springs. Bernard had lots of fun in the challenge of a blended family. Bernard also leaves to mourn three sibling; Margaret (Jim Kerr) of Red Deer, Herman Pohl, Kitchener, Ontario, Ursula (Noel Peyton) Ottawa, Ontario. A Public Celebration of Bernard’s Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Bernard enjoyed his neighbours and hoped the feelings were mutual. Bless you all, you saints! Bernard made many friends during his pursuit of happiness and expects to see them all again some day.
