Betty KINSELLA

KINSELLA (Penner) Betty Kinsella (Penner), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, joined her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on March 10th 2009, at the Innisfail Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Betty will always be remembered by friends and family for her cheery disposition, generous spirit and zest for life. Betty will be dearly missed by her four children; Trudy (Gus) Ziegler of Olds, Susan (Terry) Pepper, of Kamloops, B.C., Mike (Kenna) Hagstrom, of Camrose, Dave (Penny) Kinsella, of Innisfail; one step-daughter, Darlene Rosin, of Chestermere Lake; eleven grandchildren, Philip, Olivia, Joshua, Shaun, Ryan, Dustin, Joel, Travis, Riley, Amy, and Wyatt; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Ty, Caleb, and Kason; one brother Bob (Elma) Penner; two sisters, Marion (Evan) Addy, and Pat McKenzie; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, a great number of very dear friends, surrogate grandson Samuel Snow, and the "son of her heart", Corey Lewis. Betty was predeceased by her mother and best friend Louise Penner in 2001. Betty was born March 3, 1940 in Red Deer. She grew up in Red Deer and the Ponoka areas. Over the course of her lifetime Betty also resided in the Wetaskiwin and Innisfail areas, though since 1974 had resided in Red Deer. She worked various jobs including, telephone operator, office manager, sales manager. Betty took great satisfaction in achieving her Re-Hab. from RDC at the age of 52 and working with Parkland Class until last summer. It was working as a care provider for those with the greatest needs that she found her true calling. Betty's love for her own children was evident in the sacrifices she made to ensure that they had the best possible upbringing. Her life was a demonstration of practical love for those in need. Betty enjoyed dancing, traveling, listening to music, teaching Sunday school, spending time with children, and socializing with family and friends. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 1:00 pm on March 16, 2009 at the Deer Park Alliance Church 2960-39 Street, Red Deer. Memorial donations in Betty's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Samaritan's Purse, or the charity of the donor's choice.
