With heavy hearts we share the passing of our precious wife and mother Betty Layden. She was born Noreen Elizabeth MacAulay on August 10, 1930 in Stettler, Alberta. Sadly, Betty passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Allen; her children Linda (Ken), Brenda (Dennis), Randy (Donna) and Darcy (Debbie) along with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Betty treasured her family and was a loving, kind and giving soul. Some of her passions included her friends, the outdoors, using her healing touch, painting and reading. A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Royal Canadian Legion Red Deer Branch followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta.
