Beverley POWELL

POWELL Beverley R. (Bev) Powell of Red Deer passed away peacefully at Red Regional Hospital on August 1, 2009 at the age of 66 years. She will be remembered always and sorely missed by her daughter, Carla, her son, Tim, daughter, in-law Leanne and grandchildren Addison and Kayden all of Red Deer, her mother-in-law, Totty Powell, her dog Vegas and all the family and friends that were near and dear to her. Beverley was predeceased by her loving husband, Dennis Powell of Red Deer in 2004, her mother, Lorraine Franklin in 1989 and father-In-law, Stan Powell in 1994. Bev was born on March 8, 1943 in Hanna, Alberta, where she attended Hanna Public School and the Hanna High School. She went on to attend Our Lady of Perpetual Help Commercial School (OLPH) in Hanna. She graduated on June 18, 1961 and moved to Red Deer June 19th and started work the next day at Sim’s Auction Mart for Keith and Alec Sim. She met the love of her life, Dennis Powell and they were married December 5, 1964. In 1966 they moved to Melfort, Saskatchewan, then to North Battleford, Saskatoon in 1973 and returned to Red Deer in 2003. During this time, Mom was a homemaker and made sure we were all looked after. Her interests were vast, included camping, gardening, cooking, baking, cake decorating, sewing, crafts and traveling. We will remember her for her generosity, loving spirit and her love of family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service for the late Beverley Powell will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Fran Hare officiating.
