Blake Aaron
June 11, 2005 - Sept. 16, 2014
After being diagnosed with ALD - Adrenal Leuko Dystrophy in January, 2014, Blake faced what was to be a seven month endurance of a degenerative brain disorder of which there is no cure or no therapy. He will always be remembered as a bright light in any room and defined the words fun and happiness. Even in the later stages of his battle he was able to smile and laugh at some thought or memory that must have surfaced in his mind. Sadly after a three month stay in palliative care Blake passed away peacefully in his sleep with his parents close by early in the morning Tuesday September 16, 2014. He was only nine years old. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the loving care provided by the wonderful staff of the Rotary Flames House in Calgary, they truly became a part of the family. Anyone wishing to make donations in Blake's memory are encouraged to support the Alberta Children's Hospital, attention Rotary Flames House.
