Blake DOWLING

October 5, 2006

DOWLING Blake Dowling, loving father and beloved husband of Cathy, went to be with his Lord peacefully at home on October 1st, 2006 at the age of 50. Blake was born October 8, 1955 in Lacombe, AB. He received his education in Rimbey and later moved to the Morningside area and started his career in carpentry. Blake's passion was working with wood and framing houses. Blake always said that any project had potential and he always gave everything his best. Another of Blake's passions was his family. He loved his wife, children, nieces and nephews very much and always kept them entertained with his dry sense of humor. Blake was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 32 and struggled with his health for many years. The last 3 years were the most difficult for him as he lost his eyesight and his kidneys continued to fail. Blake recently professed his faith publicly and devoted his life to his Lord and Savior, which gives his family and friends peace knowing he's now in heaven where he no longer has any pain or suffering. Blake will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Cathy, his son Cameron of Vancouver, daughter Amy (Bobby) of Red Deer, son Curt (Amy) of Lacombe, brother Earl (Margo) of Ponoka and in-laws, Simon & Ann Swier, Pete & Les Swier, John & Lynn Richardson, Wally Swier, Roger and Anita Swier, as well as many other relatives and his special little friends, the neighbor boys next door. Blake was predeceased by his parents Edward & Marion Dowling and sister Leslie Ann Heasman. A special thanks to Dr. Jim and the wonderful nurses on the dialysis unit in Red Deer who took the time and care for Blake during his many long visits and who Blake got to know and appreciate. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association #6 5015-48 St. Red Deer, AB T4N 1S9, or the DTHR Foundation -Dialysis Unit P O Bag 5030, Red Deer, AB, T4N 6R2.
