BOHNET

October 27, 2009

BOHNET, Lynne Violet (Hinkle) Lynne Violet Hinkle was born on February 24, 1939 to Vern and Violet Hinkle. She lived on the family farm with her parents and brothers, Noel and Dennis until marrying Laverne in 1957. That same year, they took over the Bohnet family farm, and in 1978, built their home in Stettler. Lynne spent many hours watching Laverne curl, and the two enjoyed golfing regularly. They also enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and spending time with their neighbors and friends. Lynne worked at the Sears Catalogue store and Treasure Shoppe in Stettler for many years, and enjoyed visiting with the customers and staff. Lynne and Laverne were delighted when Kerry and Marj Short became their neighbors. Over the years they formed a very close relationship, and Kerry and Marj soon became their 'chosen children.' In later years, she and Laverne met friends for coffee regularly, and she continued this following his passing in 2007. Lynne was a very private person, who cherished the close friends and family in her life. She was surrounded by people who loved her deeply, and these friends supported her in the very difficult times following Laverne's passing, and subsequent losses of both her brothers, Dennis and Noel in 2008. In particular, she genuinely appreciated the kindness and assistance shown to her by neighbors and friends - Marj and Kerry, and Leonard and Linda - enabling her to remain in her home. The loss of the love of her life, Laverne was incredibly heartbreaking for Lynne, and she was filled with such sadness for these last two years - a sadness she was unable to conquer. Lynne passed away on October 7, 2009. She is now resting peacefully with Laverne and her family. Lynne is survived by her chosen children, Kerry and Marj Short; sisters-in-law, Vivian Hinkle and Ruth Mertz; brother-in-law, Leonald Bohnet; Laverne's Aunt Phyllis; nieces Cheryl (Mike) Talma and family, Karen (Steve) Copeland and family, Laura Hinkle; other nieces and nephews including nephew Dick (Michelle) Bowles and family of Stettler; and many close friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Laverne; brothers, Dennis and Noel Hinkle; parents, Vern and Violet Hinkle and Vic and Kay Bohnet. The Family would like to thank all those who have shown their love and support during this difficult time. A private family graveside was held at Woodland Cemetery in Botha, Alberta with a public luncheon on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, for a time of fellowship and refreshments prepared and supplied by Botha United Church Women.
