BOULDING

August 20, 2009

BOULDING It is with immense sadness that the family of Kent Boulding announce his sudden and tragic passing on August 13th, 2009 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. He left his family and friends much too soon but will be forever etched into the minds and hearts of those who love him. Kent was born January 19th, 1951 and was raised on the family ranch in Red Deer County. Throughout his life he worked on the ranch to support and assist his family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand especially when family health issues developed. Working as a guide in the family Outdoor Education Center at Strathcona Park Lodge was a part of Kent's youth that was very dear to his heart. In earlier years of his life, he also toured around North America on his motor bike giving him fond memories which turned into endless stories. Kent's vast love for nature showed in the thousands of pictures he took while on family vacations, camping, hunting, and on his cross country travels for work. Kent married Brenda in 1978 and together they lovingly raised their three children, Shannon (Jeremy) Deleeuw, Troy and Brittany(Robin). A highlight in Papa Kent's life was spending time with and caring for his two grandchildren Paris and Lyric Deleeuw. Kent is survived by his mother Marjory, brothers Brad (Lil), Gary (Lisa), Devon (Gail), their families and Kalvin Cruikshank. He is predeceased by his baby daughter Sarah, father Chuck Boulding and his sister, Judy Boulding. Kent's career as a truck driver allowed him to travel extensively throughout Alberta, Eastern Canada and the United States. He was known for being easy going, loyal, humorous, inspiring, and extremely kind. Kent was a gentle giant that loved, cherished and supported his family, friends, and co-workers. His outlook on life was brilliant and he will always be remembered as "the glue" that held the entire family together. Kent enjoyed gardening, photography, golf, hunting, animals, driving, camping, his work, helping around the ranch, his wife's home cooking and spending quality time with his family. A Celebration of Life Service for the late Kent Boulding will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday August 20th 2009 at the Gaetz United Church, 4758 Ross St. Red Deer, AB with the Reverend Fran Hare officiating.
