August 12, 1960 – July 11, 2022
Bradley Wilson, beloved husband of Maria (Maribeth) Wilson, of Calgary, AB, passed away from a cardiac arrest on Monday, July 11, 2022, doing what he loved, cycling, at the age of 61 years.
Brad was born in Red Deer, AB, on August 12, 1960, and was a great-great-grandson to Leonard Gaetz (founder of Red Deer). He attended LTC High School, graduated from Red Deer College, and SAIT; receiving his Petroleum Engineering Degree from the University of Alberta. Brad and Maria (Maribeth) have been happily together for almost 18 years. Brad was a member of APEGA and volunteered with RockPointe Church, in the children’s ministry where he and his family attended. Brad accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of becoming a certified bicycle technician and pioneered the Montney HZ play for the oil and gas industry. Brad loved tinkering with bicycles and had a great passion for MTB/road cycling, xcountry/downhill skiing, sport cars, health, and fitness. Brad will be most remembered for his smile, generous heart, his ability to strike a conversation with anyone, helping others, incredible knowledge in everything, and of course his love for his family and for Christ.
Besides his loving wife Maribeth, Brad is survived by his three children, Mateja Jolie, Victoria Isabelle, and Adam Gabriel of Calgary. Brad is also survived by his mother Carol Turk (Wells/Wilson) in Red Deer, his one sister and one brother-in-law, Shelley Medinsky and Kelvin Medinsky of Red Deer, their children Steven and Mike/Lynn; one half-brother Chad/Kari of Stettler, and one half-sister Trista of New Norway; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Brad was predeceased by his father Arthur Wilson.
A Memorial Service with Reception will be held at RockPointe Church (255024 Lochend Road, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
