It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Brent Baker of Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the age of 76 years. Brent was raised in Victoria, British Columbia, where he grew up alongside his brother, Larry. The bond between the two was strong, and together they created countless memories during their childhood. Those shared experiences helped shape the values of loyalty, hard work, and dedication that Brent carried with him throughout his life. Brent was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Terry, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Brent was a proud RCMP Sergeant, dedicating thirty-one years of service to his country and community with honor, integrity, and unwavering commitment. Throughout his career, he had numerous postings, building lifelong friendships along the way. Brent's legacy extends beyond his professional achievements, as he was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. His family was his greatest joy, and his kindness, strength, and unwavering support will be remembered by all who knew him. Brent's passion for baseball began at the age of six, playing until he was eighteen, and he continued his love for the game by playing slow-pitch throughout his adult life. In retirement, he and Terry spent time in Viewpoint, Arizona, where Brent enjoyed golf and slow-pitch with a close-knit group of friends. As a father, Brent was deeply involved in his children's sports, coaching their hockey and ringette teams, and relishing the many trips to tournaments with them. His generosity and dedication also extended to his volunteer work with the Special Olympics, where he proudly served as the president for Alberta. Brent's memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, Terry, his children, James (Leslie) and Kimberly (Liam), his grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, service, and commitment to family and community will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Brent's Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.. In honor of Brent's vibrant spirit, casual attire is welcomed, and men are especially invited to wear their most brightly colored golf shirt.
