It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Brian, our beloved son, brother and uncle, at his home on March 19, 2019 in Red Deer at the age of 60 years.

Brian was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, but in May of 1962 his family moved to Red Deer and he has resided here since then. He attended Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School and graduated in 1978.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lee Gilchrist, and siblings Verda Lee Gilchrist, Glenda Hermary (Adrian), Marlene Judson (Randy), Carol Lynn Gilchrist (John Terrenzio), Leona Mayhew (Doug Hastings), Karen Gilchrist Olsson (Sven), Kevin Gilchrist (Anna), and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Mel Gilchrist, on June 1, 1995, as well as both sets of grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pioneer Lodge, 4324 - 46A Avenue, Red Deer, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Brian's behalf to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta.
