May 11, 1957 - March 20, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doug on March 20, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Doug was born to Ray & Mae Plastow in New Westminster, BC on May 11, 1957.
Doug grew up in Pitt Meadows, BC and always talked fondly of his growing years and his " Leave it to Beaver" family.
As a young adult, Doug worked in the lumber mill in the lower mainland of BC before heading to Alberta in the early 1980's.
He spent years in Alberta as a marine mechanic and the oilfields of Alberta. Returning to his love of mechanics until his passing.
Doug loved spending time with family & friends camping, fishing, boating or socializing over a vodka & diet coke having a good laugh.
He had a calm cool demeanor which showed in his words of wisdom or while teaching his one true love - mechanics.
Doug leaves to mourn his passing; 2 sons: Brian (Tammy) of Maymont, SK & Derek (Jessica) of Red Deer, AB, 2 daughters: Sarah (Brent) of Aldergrove, BC & Nicole (Dave) of Osoyoos, BC. 1 Brother: Greg (Lorrilee) of Maple Ridge, BC, 1 Sister: Sherralee (Grant) of Penticton, BC; 12 Grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family & friends.
Doug was predeceased by his parents and son in law Blair.
Friends & family are invited to an outdoor spreading of ashes on April 10th, 2021.
We will meet at the Penhold Multiplex at 1pm & proceed to Doug's final resting site. Due to covid we will be practicing all safety protocol as well as social distancing.
