BRILZ

June 12, 2009

BRILZ It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Casandra-lee Brilz, on June 8 2009. Casandra-lee was born to Robert and Cara Brilz, on March 25, 2005 in Red Deer, Alberta. Casandra was a happy little girl who touched the lives of everyone she met in her very short time on earth. Casie was diagnosed with autism when she was two years old, but that did not stop her from making the most of life. Casandra had a curious sense of wonder about her, as she would venture and explore any environment she found interesting. Her eyes would focus on the new and unknown, as she seemed to seek understanding and joy in the world. Casandra-lee attended the Children's Services School in Red Deer. At school and at home Casandra was demonstrating her love of learning by recently saying words and signing; this enhanced Casie and her family's ability to communicate. Everyone, especially Casie, was excited by her progress and new found ability to interact with her loved ones. Casandra was fascinated by so much, especially things she could hold in her hands. Casandra loved the outdoors, and particularly enjoyed water and ducks. Casandra was a beautiful little princess and will be missed more than words can say. Leaving to mourn her loss are her loving parents, Robert and Cara Brilz, her loving grandparents, Jean and Brian Wimmer, her grandfather David Hinton, her great-grandmother, Elva Wimmer, all her aunts and uncles, Kristie and Chris McCullough, Christian Brilz, Camy Brilz, Cory and Rob Mills, and Connie Brilz, and all her cousins, Megan, Morgan, Mya, Michaela, Enola, and Lincoln Mills.  Casandra was predeceased by her grandparents, Gordon and Judy Brilz, Uncle Craig Brilz, great-grandparents, Christian, Emma, and Velma and Percy Schilling. A memorial will be held for Casandra, on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Metcalf Funeral Chapel, in Innisfail, AB, at 1:00 p.m. Donations can be made in loving memory of Casandra to the Children's Services Centre - a non-profit child development centre assisting children with special needs to reach their full potential.
