BURNS, Bruce Wesley 1927 – 2008 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Wesley Burns on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the age of 81. Bruce fought a valiant fight against prostate cancer, but succumbed to this disease in the Palliative Care at the Red Deer Hospital with his family by his side. Bruce was born to Wycliffe and Margaret Burns on May 14, 1927 on his parents farm in the Diamond Valley district. Bruce will be remembered for his generosity, warm smile, respect and friendship towards all. Bruce will be lovingly cherished by his daughter Nola (Erwin) Shippelt, grandchildren Kira and Curtis Shippelt, two brothers, Stanley (Anne) burns and Robert (Deloyce) Burns, cousin Marg Dolan, 3 nephews and 3 nieces along with many other extended family members and very special friends. Bruce was predeceased by his wife, Darline in 1995 and by his parents. A Funeral Service for the late Bruce Burns will be held at the Eckville Community Centre on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Sylvan Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Bruce's name may be made to Prostate Cancer Research Foundation – 1262 Don Mills Road, Suite 1F, Toronto, Ontario. M3B 2W7.
