BUSCHOL Mr. John Buscholl of Alix, AB. passed away on April 22, 2009 at the Lacombe Health Care Centre at the age of 58 years. John was born January 8, 1951, in Medicine Hat, Alberta to Frank and Mary Buscholl. The family moved to the Red Willow area where Frank worked for the Chapman family; John attended school in Red Willow, Botha, Erskine and Wm. E. Hay High School. When John left school he worked for the Alberta Government in bridge construction and maintenance, working his way to Master Bridge Builder; in 1996 during privatization he joined the Carmack's Company and worked for them until 2003, until more complications of Multiple Sclerosis started. He was awarded with numerous citations over the years for his great accomplishments in Bridge Construction. John met the love of his life Mary Peterson; they resided in Alix and enjoyed many years of golfing and camping with Mary's family Bill and Coralee. John fought a hard battle with MS and was able to remain at home with the care of his aides until just before his passing. John is survived by his sister Susan Buscholl of Stettler; step son Bill (Ximena) Peterson of Calgary and step daughter Coralee (Ron) Leis of Alix; three step grandchildren: Gabrielle and Christopher Peterson and Wesley Leis; niece Dawn Buscholl and nephew Shawn Buscholl; aunts uncle: Annette Rose & George (Lillian) Rose; other relatives & many friends. John was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Buscholl and his beloved Mary Peterson. Funeral services were held at Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, AB, at 1:00 P.M. on April 28, 2009 with Susan Nelson officiating. His aunt Annette Rose gave a very moving tribute of John's life to the many people in attendance. Interment was at Erskine Cemetery with Murray Menage, Dwayne Dahl, Brian Sauer, Howard Copeland and Ernie Peterson serving as Pallbearers. Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and refreshments served by the Erskine U.C.W. Memorial donations may be made to the M.S. Society or the Lacombe Health Care Centre.
