CARDINAL It is with deepest sorrow and much heartbreak, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Mr. Alexander Noe ‘Alex’ Cardinal, beloved husband of Mrs. Madeleine Cardinal of Lavoy, Alberta at St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Vegreville, Alberta on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the age of 79 years. Alex was born on September 13, 1925 at LeGoff, Alberta. He served his country in World War II and then returned to work in the Construction business for the duration of his life. Alex was a very honourable and modest man, who loved and cherished his family with all his heart. His family, grandchildren and great grandchildren made him very, very proud. Alex was a gentle and admirable man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Alex will be very deeply and sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and longtime friends. Alex leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife of fifty-six years, Madeleine; his sons, Alexander of Lavoy, Marty of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; his daughters, Marlene (Duncan) Cook of Airdrie, Marion (Jim) TenHove of Red Deer, Muriel (Darry) Dargatz of Beaverlodge, Marie Cardinal of Bonnyville, Connie (John) Lavelle of Haren, Netherlands, Lorri (Randy) Parenteau of Sylvan Lake, Kelly (Adrean) Wolvers of Calgary, twenty-two grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Lawrence of Lacombe, and Leo of Red Deer, as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends. Alex was predeceased by his mother, Bella, his father, Patrice, sister, Rose, brother, Joseph, grandson, Jason TenHove and a son, Patrick. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Alex’s honour may be made directly to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2.
