It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at Villa Marie, Red Deer on January 5th, 2023.
Carmen was predeceased by her husband Leroy, mother Doris, Sister Phyllis, Brother Edner, Granddaughter Angela, Great Granddaughter Serenity.
Carmen is survived by her children, Diane (Harvey) Otteson, Thaylia Fenc (Keith), Debbie (Jim) Moore, Phillip Taylor, Melanie Taylor, Jackie (Barry) Anderson, Tony Taylor, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 nephew and 1 niece.
Mom was born in Kingston, Jamaica and on a visit to her sister, Phyllis to Canada, she met the love of her life Leroy and they were married on December 15, 1949. Carmen was very devoted to her family and her greatest joy was when she was spending time with them.
Mom was deeply loved by her family and will forever live in our hearts.
We would like to thank the staff on LTC 2 at Villa Marie for their compassionate care of our mother during the last couple of years. Also special thanks to Dr. Colin Holmes for his care and in-home visits.
A private graveside service will be held with a celebration of Carmen's life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the charity of choice in Carmen's name.
