Caroline Marie Mercredi-Riley of Red Deer passed away into the company of angels on April 21, 2017 at the age of 77 years. Caroline was raised in Fort Smith NWT and comes from a large and loving family. Caroline became an active part of the Red Deer community since the late 70's. She was known for her big smile, hours of volunteer work and driving fast in her wheelchair with flags waving behind her. Caroline will be warmly remembered by her children, Sheri Macardy, Lisa (Gary) Boulding, Sean Riley and Tammi Snooke along with their father Patrick Riley; grandchildren Rachel and Justus Hanks, Tanner Drost, Megan Boulding, and Riley Snook and "GG's" great grandchildren Chase and Hailey Drost; brothers Stan (April) Mercredi, Louis (Brenda) Mercredi, Kenny (Gwen) Mercredi, and sisters Nancy (Ron) Foye, Margaret (Ron) Steele, Georgina Mercredi, Donna (Ron) Sewell, Maureen Mercredi and Muriel Mercredi-Craig. Also to cherish Caroline's memory are numerous other family members and friends. Caroline was predeceased by parents Louis and Marie Mercredi; sisters Claire Aspinall, Evelyn Dodman, Agnes Melnyk; brothers Albert Mercredi, Eddy Powder, Gilbert Powder, Joe Mercredi, Ted Mercredi, Lawrence Mercredi and nieces Anna-Marie Mercredi, Beverly Tuccaro and nephews Eddy Powder jr., Stanly Dodman, James Dodman, and Ken (Chris) Mercredi. Funeral mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Ave, Red Deer, AB on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Friendship Meals at Sacred Heart Parish, 5508 - 48A Ave, Red Deer, AB T4N 3V6.
