MORRISON Catherine Mary (Cassie) 1926 to 2008 Catherine Morrison of Red Deer passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the age of 82 years. On June 15, 1926, Catherine was born to Walter and Catherine Butlin in Lacombe, AB, where she grew up and took her schooling. In later years, she and her family moved to Lethbridge where she met and married Chester Morrison. Together, Catherine and Chester had ten children. She spent her time raising their family and being a full time homemaker. Catherine was a member of the Ladies Auxillary Branch #35, and always enjoyed a game of cards. Catherine was a gentle, kind lady who never had a bad word to say about anyone, always making time to sit and chat with the many people who would drop by. At 40 Fern, the door was always open and the coffee was always hot! Catherine will be lovingly remembered by seven daughters, Lynn Madge of Grande Cache, Judy Carroll of Edmonton, Jackie (Reagh) Burgess of Calgary, Pat (Graham) Lee of Calgary, Betty (Dan) MacDonald of Okotoks, Donna (John) MacDonald of Red Deer, and Sherry (Lance) Sharp of Saudi Arabia, three sons, John (Joan) Morrison of Stettler, Dan (Shelly) Morrison of Calgary and Denny Morrison of Red Deer. Also left to cherish fond memories of Catherine are eighteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren. Catherine is also survived by one sister, May Johnson of Calgary, and four brothers, Jack (Jean) of Lethbridge, Wilf (Jean) of Edmonton, Ernie of Edmonton, and Victor (Theresa) of Calgary, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Chester on January 6, 1997 and also by two brothers, Andrew and Richard and by two sisters, Elsie and Violet. Funeral Services for the late Catherine Morrison will take place at the Chapel of the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 67 Street, Red Deer) on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Leanne V. Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
