Charlene GIBSON

October 26, 2004

GIBSON, Charlene It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Charlene Gibson, devoted wife, mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt and friend on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the age of 52 years. Charlene took her first year of school at Markerville, then went to Spruce View School where she graduated in 1970. She married Ron Dean in 1972 and they had two daughters, Kimberly and Marina. In 1986 she married Donald Gibson and was blessed with two stepsons, Derrick and Chad. Her marriage to Don brought on a new career for Charlene; they joined efforts to become devoted team drivers for cross country long hauls. Charlene and Don continued this allegiance for seventeen years and traveled thousands of miles together before moving to Innisfail in 1999, where they made their home. In 1998 Charlene began her second career, staying home where you could be sure to find the coffee on. She contributed to the community by offering her services as a volunteer at the Innisfail Hospital. Charlene became enthusiastic in starting her home business selling Epicure and hosting a wide variety of home based businesses. Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was everyone's friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand or her shoulder to cry on. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Don; daughters Kimberly (Damon) and granddaughter Patricia Hughes; Marina (Darren) and grandson Blake Gibson; sons Derrick (Stephanie) Gibson, Chad (Mandy) Gibson; her mother Ida Flake; sisters Shirley (Randy) Hillman, Myrna (Lorne) Lemay; one brother Wesley (Branda) Flake, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Charlene was predeceased by her dad Cecil Flake and mother-in-law Lorna Gibson. A celebration of Charlene's life will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 4200 - 49 Avenue, Innisfail. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Charlene's honor may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements entrusted to METCALF FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4200 - 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta, T4G 1M6.
