November 17, 1928 - September 21, 2021
On the afternoon of September 21st, with family by his side, our dad, Everett Joslin, took his last breath. As he said, he had lived a good 92 years and he was tired. Over the last two years we saw a decline in his physical health but never his mind. He was always up for a spirited conversation.
Everett was born November 17, 1928 and grew up in Clive. He married Marian (Sissons) in 1951. They moved to Red Deer in 1962 where he lived until his passing. Dad, along with his father, and brothers owned the BA service station, Earl's Corner Service in Clive. When he moved to Red Deer he managed a Gulf Oil service station and then was an equipment operator for Northwestern Utilities until retirement in 1993.
Dad and mom spent their life enjoying the cabin at Gull Lake and camping any chance they had. They enjoyed years of watching Greg play hockey, and in the later years cheered on their grandchildren with their sporting endeavors.
They made sure they never missed a grandchild's Christmas concert in Drayton Valley or Calgary. Camping and socializing with family and their many friends were always a highlight. Dad pulled his trailer until he was 82 and even at that age found it difficult to give up.
Everett is survived by his daughters, Carmen (Brian Ware), Barb Joslin, his son Greg (Renee); six grandchildren, Cameron (Brittany), Sean, Jennifer (Tyler), Drew (Bridgit), Cade, Paige; four great grandchildren, Charlotte, Ava Rae, Sven and Remi; sister Nettie Harris, sister-in-law Theresa Joslin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stan and Gail Sissons; four nieces, five nephews and a number of close friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marian, two brothers, Lorne and Marvin, sister-in-law Ruth, brothers-in-law, Roy and Al, and nephew, Bill.
Dad's wishes were very specific and in keeping with those wishes there will be no service. Raise your glass of rye and ginger ale to a life well lived!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society.
