Chee LEE

January 25, 2008

LEE Chee Bing Oct. 22, 1929 - Jan. 20, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished husband, father and grandfather on Sunday, January 20, 2008. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Betty; daughters Linda (Gaston) and Bonnie (Gary); son Alfred, and grandchildren Anthony, Terrilyn, Bryan, Aaron and Sabrina, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. An honest, hard worker all of his life, he instilled in his family a strong sense of pride in a job well done. Bing came to Canada in 1952 and worked for many years as a drycleaner, as a tailor for the R.C.M.P. and then as a chef at the Peacock Inn in Red Deer, raising his family and dabbling in his hobbies, which included black and white photography, leaving wonderful images of his early life in Canada. In 2000, he and Betty moved to Calgary to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Bing enjoyed his regular visits with his friends in Chinatown and was a great fan of hockey and football. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Rosedale Hospice for their care and compassion during his short stay, and to palliative care nurses Krystal and Janice. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at visitation at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Bing's honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Hospice Calgary.
