Chris William Balding passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the age of 87.
He was predeceased by his parents Sydnee and Ella, and sister Louise. Chris will be lovingly remembered by his wife Eva. He is survived by his sister Joan, daughters Sharon, Beth and Margo (Gordon), and sons Chris and Robert. He has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chris was born on a homestead near Tessier, Saskatchewan on Aug 14, 1930. He left home as a teenager and found work in Red Deer in 1949. He met and then married Eva Frisch on June 7, 1951, and they raised their family there. Chris loved gardening, woodworking and cooking. He worked in retail sales for over 50 years for several stores including Eaton's and The Bay.
The family would like to thank Red Deer Regional Hospital and Eventide Funeral Home for their care.
