Christa Schuetz passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 8, 2018 at the age of 78 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund Schuetz.
Christa was born in Hamburg, Germany, but left Germany soon after school to see the world. Her travels took her from Australia to Long Island, New York, and then eventually arriving in Edmonton, Alberta.
While working in Edmonton, she met Edmund Schuetz. They were married in 1966, and settled in Red Deer.
She and Edmund operated a successful business and enjoyed living on their farm west of Red Deer for many years. She enjoyed living on the farm, but would always find time to spend with family and friends.
She and Edmund retired to Nanaimo, BC in 2002. In retirement, she still enjoyed spending time with friends and her children, grandchildren and caring for her dogs. Christa made many lasting friendships along with great memories wherever she lived.
She is survived by daughter Nicola (John) Terrell, and Mark (March) Schuetz, and grandchildren Gregory, Matthew and Arianna.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 24, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Ave. Nanaimo, BC.
Memorial donations in Christa's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
