Clara Belle Witwer (nee Webb)

December 3, 1922 - October 29, 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Clara Belle Witwer in Olds, Alberta on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Clara was born in Swalwell, Alberta on December 3, 1922 and was raised on the family farm. She married LaVern Witwer in 1949. They farmed west of Acme and raised 7 children. Clara was a member of the Royal Purple and a life long member of the Rebekah Lodge. She loved needle work, quilting, watching baseball and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had a kind word for everyone. Clara will be lovingly remembered by her children, Daniel (Paulette), James (Marilyn), Rod (Rose d.), Cam (Betty), Tom (Angela), Laurie, Bruce (Georgia); as well 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Clara was predeceased by her husband LaVern in 2009; sisters, Gerry and Cloene; and brother, Bud. Clara's family would like to extend their heartfelt "Thank You" to Brenda Wagner and the staff at the Seasons Encore in Olds for their kindness and caring for Mom in her last years. A Memorial Service will be held at the Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, AB on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Red Deer, 5241 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 5G8.
