ORTWEIN Clayton Leander Ortwein of Red Deer passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital after a long illness at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife Doreen Ortwein (Schilling); five children, Gladys (Don Mckinley), Edward (Sharon) Ortwein, Gloria (Randy Kanten), Gary (Lynn) Ortwein and Gordon (Nichole) Ortwein; ten grandchildren, Del, Lyle, Shauna, Anna Lisa, Kelly, Reagan, Kim, Angelina, Christopher and Ashley and four great grandchildren, Chelsea, Courtney, David and Quenton. He is also survived by his brother, Del (Marie) Ortwein; four sisters, Alice (Jim Martin), Grace (Doug Hermann), Joyce (Hugh Saben) and Bernice (Jim McDonald), his aunt Laverne Ortwein and many nieces and nephews. Clayton was predeceased by his mother, Helen in February 1975 and his father, Leander in January 1974. A Celebration of Life will be held at Victory Christian Fellowship Church, 98 Oberlin Ave., Red Deer, AB on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Clayton may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT and Nunavut, 101, 5208 – 53rd Ave., Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2 or to the Alberta Lung Association, PO Box 4500, Stn South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2.
