Eva leaves behind her soul mate of 51 years, Charles (Chuck) Collins of Forestburg; two daughters and one son, Tannis (Jack) Redekop of Calgary, Terri (Doug) Parker of Lethbridge and Kent (Cathie) Collins of Cambridge, Ontario; her grandchildren, Jon and Jay Redekop, Deonne, Brett (Erin), Jeff (Staci) and Jordan Parker, Dylan, Alesha and Tori Collins, Troy (Brandi) Raugust; her only surviving brother, Alvin (Edna) Rutherford of Didsbury; her sister-in-law, Betty Joan Rutherford, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Lowell and Pearl Rutherford; her sister, Vivian Collins; her brother, Bill Rutherford; her dear granddaughter, Janelle Marie Redekop; niece, Donna Rutherford and Chuck’s parents, Charles and Tannis Collins. Eva grew up in Elnora and worked as a Nursing Aide in Grande Prairie and Drumheller where she met her husband, Chuck Collins. Eva and Chuck were married on June 2, 1954 and lived in Drumheller for seven years and have since resided in Forestburg until the time of her passing, raising their three children, Tannis, Terri and Kent. Although Eva was an active volunteer in the community, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years she was very involved with her family in pursuit of their many interests. Each member of her extended family was a very special person whom she loved and cherished. Her home was always open to her friends and her children’s friends with freshly baked cookies readily available. She treasured and took special pride in each of her ten grandchildren for whom she was always knitting or crocheting hand crafted gifts. Family gatherings were very special to Eva and this is where her strong spirited fun loving nature shone. She was always fully involved with everyone and continually had people looking over their shoulder expectantly wondering what she was up to next. As a prankster and a tease, she always had a good joke to share. Eva was a sweet loving, devoted wife, mother and grandma who warmed the hearts of others with her kindness and compassion. She will always be cherished and forever missed. Memorial donations in memory of Eva may be made to the Galahad Care Centre, Box 88 Galahad, AB T0B 1R0 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
