COMER, Mrs. Minnie Esther Comer, beloved wife of the late Mr. Alfred James Comer of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home, Red Deer on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the age of 94 years. Minnie was born on March 6, 1911 at Hillend, Alberta. She was raised and received her schooling at Clarendon, Alberta. Minnie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She was a very special and talented lady who enjoyed being creative. Minnie loved doing Interior Design in her homes, embroidery, crocheting, sewing, knitting and tatting. She also found great enjoyment in her flower gardening and indoor gardening, as well as being an avid reader and loved to travel. Minnie will be very deeply missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and many friends. Minnie leaves to mourn her loss, her loving children, Inez Elizabeth Marie Luxton of Red Deer, MacGregor Lorne Comer and his wife, Deanna Elsie of Creston, British Columbia, Jerry Alfred Comer and his wife, Sandra Margaret of Olds, Alberta and Peggy Joyce Comer of Red Deer, twenty grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. Minnie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred J. Comer in 1974, an infant child in 1931, an infant daughter, Rose in 1933, a son, Donald Fredrick Comer in 1957 and son, Kenneth George Comer in 1998. A Public Memorial Service will be held at the Parkland Christian Church, 5515 – 43rd Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. A Graveside Service will be held at the Horn Hill Cemetery, Horn Hill, Alberta on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Minnie’s honour may be made directly to The Gideon’s, P.O. Box 3619, Stn. Main, Guelph, Ontario or to a Charity of the donor’s choice.
