Cyril BOWEN

BOWEN Cyril Price was born in the District of Pontypridd, Wales on February 17, 1920. His family immigrated to Canada in 1928 first settling in Delburne, Alberta. A short time later the family moved to a farm in the Bulwark, Alberta area. Cyril and his five brothers and seven sisters attended Knob Hill School. He helped on the family farm for years and farmed with his brother Bill for a few years. Later he moved to Castor where he owned and operated a delivery service until his health failed. He spent his later years between the Castor Paintearth Lodge and the Coronation Nursing Home. He passed away April 2, 2009 in the Coronation Long Term Care Unit after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents; Charlie and May, four brothers; Charlie (Gwyneth) Ivor, Bill (Rella), and Hayden, two sisters; Margaret (Lewis) Payne and Susie (John) Fuller, brother-in-law Robert Siebold. He is survived by one brother; Stanley (Alma), five sisters; Catherine Siebold, Myfy Bowen, Marjorie (Wes) Strome, Dilys (Bill) Schaffner and Violet (Grant) Baird, two sisters-in-law; Helen Bowen and Yvette Bowen and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be greatly missed. A private family funeral service was held April 6, 2009, with Pastor Marty Hayes officiating. The family gathered at the Golden Circle for refreshments and fellowship.
