MEYER, Dale

It is with sadness we announce that Dale Meyer passed away on March 31, 2018 with his loving wife, Dianne Schmelke by his side.

Dale was born on March 26, 1946 in Calgary Alberta. At a young age Dale lost his parents and was raised by his Great Grandmother and spent time growing up in Coronation AB.

Dale spent most of his career in sales. He was a sales manager at Radio Seven and then moved on to sales for CKRD. It was during this time in 1986 when he met Dianne while negotiating the advertising. In 1991 Dale moved on to sell real estate for NRS Realty and continued to do so until the year 2000. At this time he started managing Red Deer Funeral Home. During his working life Dale made many lifelong friends. In 2010 Dale and Dianne retired together.

Anyone who knew Dale knew of his passion for golf. He took trips to the coast with his friends annually to enjoy some golf. Although Dale would take the opportunity to golf at any location, including Hawaii, His heart was committed to the course in Delburne. Here he experienced the excitement of a hole in one!

Very soon after retirement Dale was able to fulfill his dream and purchased a Motorhome which he placed at the Delburne Golf Course. This became his second home during the summer months. Dale would spend the majority of the week golfing and socialising with his many friends.

Dale also loved his time on the farm, where he would find relaxation and good company. Many will remember Dale's passion for trucks. Ford trucks. He had several over the years and boy, did he baby them!

Dale was a social man and enjoyed the company of many different people. He had many friends in who will miss his teasing nature and acceptance for all.

Dale leaves to mourn, his loving wife Dianne and her son Darcy. Son and Daughter Kent and Corrine and their families. His brother Darryl (Donna) Meyer and families. Step Sister Brenda Armstrong and family, as well as his Uncle Scott and Aunty Elsie Meyer and family.

Dale was predeceased by his Step Mother, Elma and his Brother Wayne.

A celebration for Dales life will be held at Eventide Funeral Home, 4820 - 45 Street Red Deer AB, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 am.
